A picture speaks a thousand words

Last night as I was driving home I was stuck in terrible Melbourne traffic. How frustrating it was just sitting there, when there were so many other things I could have done! In boredom I glanced my eyes upwards towards the sky and was met with the most beautiful sight.

At the time, I took the photos with my iphone. I wish I had a professional camera! But nonetheless, I’d like to share with you the sights that simply took my breath away.

A picture speaks a thousand words

You might think that today’s post does not have its usual flow of words.

But how do you describe the beautiful sentiments that are expressed by nature without trivialising them?

I’ve come to accept that sometimes a picture can speak a thousand words.

And sometimes it is the silence in a picture that is infinitely more beautiful than a bucketful of written phrases.

Here are a few more of my favourite pictures of the sky

How beautiful the sky is reflecting the water

Gliding in the sky

Hot air balloons in the morning sky

Over my life, I’ve realised:

  • The sky is a good friend that is always there to turn to when everyone else has left.
  • The sky is a constant that embraces us all around the world but does not discriminate against us.
  • The sky is a reminder that in times of anger, stress,  minuscule concerns  or simply the frustration of Melbourne traffic, there is something more important in life than these petty little things that are making us angry.

The sky remains natural behind man made structures

And finally spare a thought

I’d finally like to spare a thought for the environment today. As people living on this natural earth I hope that we will recognise how blessed we are to live in such a beautiful world.

I hope that we will appreciate the hidden beauties of our natural environment.

I hope that we will make wise choices to sustain the environment for generations to come.

The environment will only be here so long as we keep it. I hope that together we will sustain what is such a beautiful friend, constant, and reminder in our lives today.

Have a lovely day

  1. Thank you for visiting my blog – I also love the sky and reading the above post made me think of a song by Robin Thicke called “2 The Sky”. It’s your anthem!! :)

    • I’m glad to have visited your blog, thanks for your comments on mine! Will have to check out the song! I look forward to your future posts :) xx

  2. My brother recommended I may like this website. He was once entirely right. This put up truly made my day. You can not believe just how much time I had spent for this information! Thanks!
